This portal accepts complaints about all types of cybercrime, including mobile crimes, online and social media crimes, online financial frauds, ransomware, hacking, cryptocurrency crimes, and online cyber trafficking. Complaints about online child pornography (CP), child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or sexually explicit content, such as rape/gang rape (CP/RGR), are also accepted here. On the website, there are two ways to report cybercrimes:

How to file a report about a cybercrime digitally with the Cyber Police using the police department's website.

You can now file a cyber crime complaint online with the Cyber Cell of the Police Department for cybercrimes committed across India, such as email fraud, social media fraud, mobile app fraud, business email compromise, data theft, ransomware, fake call fraud, insurance fraud, lottery fraud, bitcoin fraud, cheating fraud, and online transaction fraud, among others. A specialist unit inside the police department, the cybercrime cell, deals with all complex and delicate cybercrime cases, especially those involving female and juvenile victims. The Cyber Crime Cell offers cutting-edge amenities like a Cyber Lab with cyber forensic skills, including the ability to recover erased data from various devices.

The kind of information you should provide in your complaint

On the website www.cybercrime.gov.in, there are two ways to report an incident: Reporting crimes against women, children, and other cybercrimes are both options to get more knowledge about the laws of cybercrime.   • Fields with a red asterisk (*) are required in the Report and Track option. It is crucial that correct and comprehensive details about the complaint reach the police authorities. Register yourself initially by providing a name and a working Indian mobile phone. You will receive a One Time Password (OTP) on your phone. Only 30 minutes are allowed for the OTP to be used. You can report the complaint after successfully registering your mobile number on the webpage.

You can report additional cybercrimes such as mobile crimes, online and social media crimes, online financial frauds, ransomware, hacking, cryptocurrency crimes, and online cyber trafficking using the "Report Other Cyber Crimes" option on the portal. You must register using your name and a working Indian cell phone number. One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your mobile phone. Only 30 minutes are allowed for the OTP to be used. Once your cell number has been successfully registered on the portal, you can lodge complaints by choosing the appropriate category and sub-category.
